I was speaking with a pal about Ellen Goodman, the’liberal’columnist, and she said in my experience, I ended studying her since I decided with everything she was saying. It wasn’t challenging my beliefs, just what exactly do I get free from studying it. Many people never get to that point. If you’re nodding each time you read something, or hear anything, you aren’t growing.

Discussing politics in the office is not always a good subject for conversation. We’re warned by our parents (early on) that it is perhaps not courteous to talk about faith, finances or politics with your buddies, neighbors or other people for that matter. They informed us it was specially maybe not correct to talk about those “taboo” matters at the meal desk, during cultural functions, or heaven forbid…at church or on days with the alternative sex. Then when is it OK? Privately speaking, conservative vs liberal it’s possibly a good idea to talk about your political opinions with a future mate.
It might (or might not) produce a difference… particularly when you’re on other factors of the fence. It may potentially become as concern for a few people. I’ve friends who proclaim they may never manage a relationship with a significant other who did not need the same specific values because they did… whether it was with faith, income and for which mayoral candidate to vote for!
Professionally, I such as a small “straight back and forth” as long as it doesn’t become too heated, and really…why should it? As far as the office moves, my mom never mentioned it. She was a homemaker and possibly thought that is where I would spend my entire life as well. She was wrong. As much as I enjoy my house and my family, I also enjoy my nursing career. I wouldn’t be who I am if it were not for my experiences in the nursing profession. I have learned to take care of people out of every go of life and to appreciate our differences. I have also had the pleasure of dealing with many nurses during my career.
I should admit, we’ve had as numerous various celebrities, quirks and personal beliefs as our patients. So just why does it appear that the conservative values versus the liberal values in the nursing occupation appear to separate the 2 teams so generally? My suppose is that the nursing unions tend to be more liberal. Nurses generally belong to unions. Enough said…but not really. I’m a member of a nursing union though I consider myself to be careful because of my spiritual beliefs. You can find specific particular regulations that I maintain beloved to my center; laws that can’t be affected ethically.
I will enjoy and understand that other nurses might feel differently than I do. Some cases leading to variations of opinion range from supporting with termination of pregnancies all the way to voting for a “community choice” healthcare plan. As I was working one morning shift since the charge nurse on my clinic device, I had to intervene between two nurses involved in an altercation.
